Knowing

To know something well

is to begin again

to open the skin

of the universe

and step right inside,

lie next to its cheek,

kiss its mouth

with open eyes.

To know something well

is like walking on the moon

and singing in any language

even if you don’t know

the words.

Whatever passes through you

can be passed. What remains

is what you know well.
