The Project

Curated by artist and activist Adrián Arias, this project was inspired by Adrián’s lucid dream of a fortune teller and cards embellished with images of viruses, masks, Black Lives Matter marches, and protests during the peak of the pandemic.

Enlisting his friends and fellow artist community to collaborate on the cards, Adrián made the tarot deck a reality, compiling the artwork in 2020 and publishing it in December 2021 with Nomadic Press.

Capturing a moment in history unlike any other, this multidisciplinary collaboration brings together award-winning poet laureates, novelists, authors, muralists, painters, graphic artists, performance artists, musicians, and dancers, each committed to social, environmental, public health, and climate justice.
